Hsi Lai Temple | One last stop
Somewhere in California you would feel as if you're transported to Asia. At the last minute my awesome cousin, Angeli wanted to hangout before I fly back to Manila for school. I decided to do the most touristy thing and check online what "picturesque" area we could go to for fun. Lo' and behold I found this Buddhist temple in Hacienda Heights.
It was hidden on top of a steep hill within the city. Even my cousin was surprised that something as serene as this was actually located within the city. Me, my sister, and my cousin were pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem.
This is Angeli
The temple had these tiny pockets of fountains within the compound
The pièce de résistance
During the time we visited they were actually preparing for the lunar new year celebration. So we didn't get to take a lot of pictures since majority of the place was "under construction". This is definitely a place to visit if you're just driving in the area.
There's no entrance fee but you can definitely leave money at their donation box for the temple. Keep in mind that this a solemn place and you must remain respectful at all times.
We ended the day by getting boba at Half&Half
Shout out to Ang for being so accommodating
